What is a Token?

A Discord token is a unique authentication key used to connect to the Discord API, whether for a user account or a bot. A Discord token is a sequence of alphanumeric characters (letters and numbers) and acts like a password to access an account or a bot.

Do not share your token!

Since your Token is the "password" of your Bot or account, it is essential NOT to share it with anyone. Anyone in possession of your token can control your Bot and do whatever they want, which can cause damage to your account or the servers where the Bot is present. For example, the attacker could delete all channels, roles, or perform mass bans.

In case of a leak, please regenerate your token as soon as possible on the Discord Developer Portal.

We recommend using a .env file to store your token if you plan to publish your bot's source code on the Internet (e.g., GitHub, Vercel, GitLab, etc.). We will discuss this in more detail on our dedicated documentation page.
