Tag Commands

Tags are reusable messages you save under a name and call up whenever you need them. Instead of retyping the same rules reminder, FAQ answer, or welcome blurb every time, you build it once and post it with a single command. Tags are built from your saved embeds, so they look clean, and you can control which roles are allowed to create and use them.

/tag wlroles-use

Requires the Administrator permission

Only members with the Administrator permission can use this command.

Sets the roles allowed to use tags. Only members with one of these roles can post a tag, which keeps random members from spamming them. Leave it open or restrict it to staff, whichever suits your server.

/tag wlroles-create

Requires the Administrator permission

Only members with the Administrator permission can use this command.

Sets the roles allowed to create tags. Creating tags is more powerful than using them, so this is usually reserved for moderators or trusted members.

/tag use <tag_name> [mention] [message_id]

Requires the Administrator permission or a whitelisted role

Only members with the Administrator permission, or members holding a role you added with /tag wlroles-use, can use this command.

Option Type Required Choices
tag_name String Yes -
mention User No -
message_id String No -

Posts a saved tag by its name. Optionally add a mention to ping someone along with it (handy for pointing a specific member at the rules), or pass a message_id to send the tag as a reply to an existing message.

/tag create <tag_name> <embed_id> [message_content]

Requires the Administrator permission or a whitelisted role

Only members with the Administrator permission, or members holding a role you added with /tag wlroles-create, can use this command.

Option Type Required Choices
tag_name String Yes -
embed_id String Yes -
message_content String No -

Creates a new tag. Give it a tag_name to summon it by later, and an embed_id from an embed you built with the embed builder (/utils embed). You can also add message_content shown as plain text above the embed.

/tag edit <current_tag_name> <new_tag_name>

Requires the Administrator permission or tag ownership

Only members with the Administrator permission, or the member who created the tag, can use this command.

Option Type Required Choices
current_tag_name String Yes -
new_tag_name String Yes -

Renames an existing tag, from current_tag_name to new_tag_name.

/tag delete <tag_name>
